Roddy Piper Reacts To CM Punk ‘Jumping Ship’ To The UFC

Roddy Piper spoke with MMAjunkie about CM Punk making the jump to the UFC. Check out the highlights:

On Punk’s UFC jump: “I didn’t know that he was proficient in martial arts before that. Then I saw him with one of the Gracies –he did a video. You know what? I give him all the respect in the world. I love the guy and he’s got the courage to leave someplace where you have millions of dollars and to go on and try something else. That’s what a man’s made out of. How he’ll do there? You know, we’ll all watch. He’s a smart kid and I think he’ll do great.”

On his advice for aspiring fighters or wrestlers: “The bottom line is, don’t be a lifer. Get in, get a business, get five years of what you can and get out. What happens is they start listening to the promoters, ‘You’ll get the next main event.’ And then, all of a sudden you become a lifer. That’s the kiss of death there. Get in shape, go in, get the money, get out and have a wonderful life.”
