More Trademark Woes for AEW

As noted before, several trademarks filed by All Elite Wrestling were recently given initial refusals by the United States Patent and Trademark Office due to unpaid fees and issues with the wording in the trademark applications.

Wrestling Inc reported that AEW’s trademark for “Double or Nothing” was also recently given an initial refusal due to the “likelihood of confusion” regarding the name and 75 existing trademarks for the term.

Portion of USPTO’s official statement:

“The examining attorney submits that there is a likelihood of confusion with the registered mark DOUBLE OR NOTHING ENTERPRISES, LLC with a design and with “ENTERPRISES, LLC” disclaimed for “Music publishing services” in International Class 41.

Applicant’s and registrant’s marks are confusingly similar. Further, the goods and services of applicant and registrant are considered closely related. Therefore, registration of the applied-for mark is refused under Trademark Act Section 2(d).”
