More on WWE NXT Viewership for September 13th

The September 13th episode of WWE NXT saw NXT gain a large increase in overall viewership but also suffered a slight decline in key demographic ratings and key demographic viewership.

NXT drew 728,000 viewers and a 0.15 key demographic rating on USA Network. NXT’s key demographic ranking for that night was 14th place.

Detailed viewership and key demographic breakdowns were not available in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer reported that the main reason for NXT’s mixed results this week was due to the large gains from their Over 50 demographic viewership group, which was up 10.3% compared to last week’s show. This reportedly was enough to offset the large declines from their Teenagers, younger key demographic viewership, and female key demographic viewership groups, which were down 33.3%, 20%, and 36.1% respectively compared to last week’s show. Another reason for the mixed results reportedly was due to stiff sports competition that night.

In terms of head-to-head competition, the WNBA 2022 Finals Game 2 of Connecticut Sun vs. Las Vegas Aces drew 649,000 viewers on ESPN, the MLB game of New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox drew 677,000 viewers on TBS, 7 Little Johnstons drew 829,000 viewers on TLC, Below Deck Down Under drew 682,000 viewers on Bravo, and Deadliest Catch drew 904,000 viewers on Discovery Channel.

In terms of key demographic viewership, NXT had 195,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership split was 149,000 male viewers and 46,000 female viewers for a split of 76.4% in favor of males. Meltzer reported that this was one of the highest ever splits in favor of males in NXT history on USA Network.

In terms of yearly comparisons, NXT was down 5.5% in overall viewership and down 29.1% in key demographic viewership.
