Bandido Underwent Wrist Surgery

Wheeler Yuta Reportedly Suffered Hamstring Injury at This Past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Show

This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada featured the main event match of Wheeler Yuta vs. Kenny Omega, which was won by Omega.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that Yuta suffered a hamstring injury during his match against Omega.

Meltzer reported that AEW officials currently believe that Yuta did not suffer a full tear and will be able to return in time for the upcoming Blood & Guts match between the Blackpool Combat Club and The Elite at the July 19th AEW Dynamite show in Boston, Massachusetts.

Thunder Rosa Injury Status Update

As noted before, Thunder Rosa has been out of action for AEW since this past September due to her suffering a spinal-related injury. Rosa made her surprise return to AEW on the May 10th AEW Dynamite show but has not made any other on-screen appearances since then.

Rosa recently released a new Vlog featuring an update on the status of her injury. In the video, AEW’s head doctor Michael Sampson, stated that the current goal is for Rosa to hopefully be able to be medically cleared in about six more weeks.

“It’s been a long process. Looking at the most recent MRIs and all the conservative stuff we’ve done in the past, you’re progressing well right now. You still have all the pathology in your lower back, L4 and L5, with our progression going into pushing it to the limit, but taking it sequentially, going week to week to week, we push a little more, if we hit a roadblock, we back it up a step. Over the next four to six weeks, we see how it’s going. So far, you’ve been progressing very well, pain-free. If we continue to do that, we know where we stand, get you stronger, get you ring ready, as long as you don’t have that pain, we’re good. We still have to protect your back. The pathology has not gone away, it’s just a matter of we’re treating it so it helps you improve yet also protects you from worse things,” he said. “I would say [six weeks] is a good goal point to go to. Six weeks and see how we go with that.”
