They think we hate each other and we don’t interact with each other. When it comes down to it, having both companies is great for all of us. It gets us all more money, it makes the product better. The competition is great. We’re very grateful for WWE succeeding and I’m sure people at WWE, the talent, is very grateful for AEW being successful. All talent, for the most part, I think everyone gets along and interacts with each other. Whenever we see each other at a big…like WaleMania during WrestleMania week, it’s always love, never drama.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
  • In a recent interview with SO CATCH by Hal 2, indie talent Gringo Loco gave his thoughts about his recent work for AEW and ROH and the potential of him being signed by AEW. Loco stated “So, according to the internet, I’ve already signed a deal (with Ring of Honor). If you listen to the dirt sheets, I’m a signed wrestler making the big bucks. I think we just have to see where that goes in the future. That night that I debuted for Ring of Honor was a very magical night, it was straight out of a movie. I think that — I mean, getting that picture with Tony Khan raising my hand, everybody in that locker room was like, ‘That does not happen often. You should cherish that.’ So I think that Tony Khan likes me, I think he’s waiting on the right moment to tell me or to offer me a deal and I think that when that day comes, I’m gonna have a decision to make because that’s a big leap into a big company with a lot of elite wrestlers if you will so, I think that I am at their level. I just have to mentally accept that I’m gonna be All Elite or Ring of Honor and just kind of go for it which is what I’ve done my entire career so, we just have to wait and cross that bridge until it happens.” Loco also gave his thoughts about him working as a liaison for lucha talent who get booked for shows for Game Changer Wrestling. Loco stated “I think early on, somehow, Brett realized that I had this innate ability to connect dots, people and kind of fix situations that were kind of difficult to kind of confront head on. One of them being we need a way to facilitate these luchadors into GCW easily and I said, ‘Well I’m fluent in Spanish, I have all the connects. Let’s do this’ and from that day on, I think I’ve become pretty much the liaison and the messenger for all lucha libre talent in GCW. They all have to pass through me. I know exactly what everybody’s doing, who pairs with who. It really is an innate ability that I have to make the best match possible which is what Brett Lauderdale wants in his company anyway. So, it’s just a perfect pairing. I’ve wanted to travel like this my entire career and he’s always wanted all of these talents in his company and I’m the one to facilitate all the deals so, as soon as, for example, Dorada, Máscara Dorada was released, he was like, ‘Can you get him?’ And I’m like, ‘I have him in my phone right now.’ I was in his class when all of us didn’t have a name 15 years ago in CMLL. ‘I have him in my phone. Let me see what I can do.’ His first indie date was for GCW which is a lot of these guys: Komander, first indie date in the States, GCW. First indie date for Hijo del Vikingo, GCW. Brett Lauderdale is on the cusp of everything that happens for the first time and I think it’s great. I’m glad to be a part of it.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)

  • In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, Jon Moxley gave his thoughts about the challenges he faced in 2023 and having an epiphany this past December that flipped a switch in him for turning his life around for the better. Moxley stated “Yeah, 2023 was actually very tough. It’s been a tough couple of years actually. I went to rehab a couple of years ago, and there’s a lot more to that than what they tell you – the reality of actually stopping doing coke or go to rehab or stop drinking or whatever. Not drinking….that’s easy to a degree. It’s only one thing you got to do, just not drink. But, that was just a way of life for me for over 20 years and you mess up your brain chemistry over time. So, it’s the other side of getting everything back to normal and just figuring out how to live and while your brain kind of rewires itself and heals and comes back to normal. But what’s never been normal to you? It hadn’t been normal to me since I was like 14 or something like that. That part’s really hard. Everybody’s going to be different and will present challenges and stuff. So the last couple of years have been really challenging. There’s a lot of stuff outside of the ring and wrestling gets annoying, like it always does. I got sorted out with my doctors and stuff right around December, which was right around when the [Continental Classic] was starting,” Moxley said. “I was having kind of a bad time the first couple weeks in there but things kind of switched, especially once I stopped taking this medication. I just kind of had a, I don’t know what to call it, sort of an epiphany or a splash of cold water in the face. Something just hit me. I don’t know, maybe I was just accepting of getting punched in the face by circumstances over and over. Eventually, guys just get tired and they just get used to being on the bottom. They stop even trying to get up. At some point, I think I just got used to just taking abuse from circumstances. Then I kind of woke up out of it and I was like, ‘What the? Get your act together.’ That flipped the switch in me. So, the second half of that whole tournament was a whole different story.” Moxley also stated that he wants 2024 to be his year for his goals. Moxley stated “Now it’s a new year and stuff, and I’m like, ‘2024 is going to be my year.’ I don’t know, many times in my career I feel like I got a little momentum brewing in myself. A lot of times the universe will bow to your whims if you make it so, and many times where I almost feel like exactly what I feel. I feel like I know something the rest of the world doesn’t know yet. They’re not even looking at me. They’ve completely written me off and have no idea I’m coming and I’m about to blow everybody’s world up. Like I know a secret the rest of the world doesn’t know kind of thing.
  • Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Ring of Honor is currently scheduled to hold this year’s Supercard of Honor event on April 5th at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Okada stated “Of course the company talked to me about various things, and I had been thinking about it for a while. It was really only recently that I made the decision.” Okada also gave his thoughts about the reason why he decided to leave the company. Okada stated “After announcing that I was quitting and going on the tour…I felt too comfortable. I wondered what that would be like. I started my wrestling career in Mexico, came to New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and became a rainmaker 12 years later. Maybe if I stay here, I can wrestle without any inconvenience. But I don’t want to become the same Kazuchika Okada without such hunger. I don’t want to be in a situation where I have to rest on my laurels. If I were “human” Okada, I would have friends here, and I would be in the best environment. But as “wrestler” Okada, it was different.” (English translation via Fightful.com)
  • In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, NJPW President and talent Hiroshi Tanahashi gave his thoughts about Okada leaving NJPW soon. Speaking personally, I would have liked to have seen more matches with the new generation (Shota Umino, Ren Narita, Yota Tsuji, and Yuya Uemura)…. However, if I feel for Okada, I know that he has done enough in New Japan. I hope he will spread his wings to the world. If he is going overseas with what he has achieved at the top in New Japan, I hope that he will show (them) Kazuchika Okada. It’s the same feeling I had with Nakamura. I am very proud of him. I think things will get interesting from now on. We have an abundance of talent right now, and there are a lot of young fighters in the dojo. When the rain stops, there will be a rainbow. Who will light up the future of New Japan when the rain of money stops falling?” (English translation via Fightul.com)
