More on Kazuchika Okada’s Contract with AEW

As noted before, Wednesday’s Dynamite show in Duluth, Georgia featured Kazuchika Okada making his official full-time debut for AEW. Following his appearance on the show, AEW CEO Tony Khan confirmed that Okada had signed an official contract with the company.

Tokyo Sports reported that their sources stated that Okada’s contract with AEW is for three years in length. It was also reported that Okada will be earning around 2 billion yen in total, which would be around $4 million per year.


Mistico vs. Angelico Announced for Thursday’s AEW Collision Tapings

AEW CEO Tony Khan announced one new official match for the card of tonight’s AEW Collision television tapings at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia.

This new match announced was a singles match of Mistico vs. Angelico.

Current card for March 9th AEW Collision show:

  • Atlanta Street Fight match – Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, & Mark Briscoe vs. House Of Black (Brody King, Buddy Matthews, & Malakai Black)
  • Chris Jericho vs. Titan
  • Mariah May vs. mystery opponent
  • Bryan Danielson vs. Shane Taylor
  • Mistico vs. Angelico

Young Bucks Reportedly Insisted on Sting Winning His Retirement Match at AEW Revolution 2024

As noted before, this past Sunday’s AEW Revolution 2024 event in Greensboro, North Carolina featured Sting & Darby Allin defeating The Young Bucks to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship that was also Sting’s final match of his wrestling career.

Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso reported that his sources stated that AEW officials had plenty of talks regarding the direction Sting’s retirement match should take with the overall goal being to give Sting the match he wanted.

In regards to Sting winning his final match, Barrasso reported that those spoken to stated that AEW CEO Tony Khan, AEW EVPs The Young Bucks, and other involved in putting together the match had all agreed that it was imperative that Sting should end his career with a victory. Barrasso reported that Sting was the only one who dissented since he wanted to give the moment and momentum to the Young bucks, who he holds in extremely high esteem.

After some talks, Khan, The Young Bucks, and Sting all agreed in the end that a fun, happy ending would be best for AEW and to celebrate Sting’s career in AEW.
