Backstage Update on HOOK Being Pulled from AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru Show Over Storyline Injury Attack – HOOK Reportedly Dealing with Real Physical Issue

As noted before, HOOK was pulled from this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru show in Boston, Massachusetts due to a storyline injury from an unseen attack by the Death Riders.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that the reason why HOOK was pulled from the show was due to him currently dealing with a real physical issue. No other details reportedly are currently known about HOOK’s health status.

It was reported that Powerhouse Hobbs was informed this past Tuesday that he would be replacing HOOK for The Opps’ match against the Death Riders for the AEW World Trios Championship on the show.

It was also reported that the title change was something AEW officials had planned for the show well before HOOK’s situation arose and not as a result of it.

PAC Ankle-Relate Injury Status Update

As noted before, PAC suffered an ankle-related injury during his match against Swerve Strickland on the April 9th AEW Dynamite show in Baltimore, Maryland. AEW announced afterwards that PAC had vacated his AEW World Trios Championship and Jon Moxley would be replacing him as the Interim AEW World Trios Champion for the Death Riders’ title defense at this past Wednesday’s Dynamite Spring BreakThru show.

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown on SI, AEW CEO Tony Khan gave his thoughts about the criticism from fans and former talents have had about his booking over the years and how he listens to feedback from a lot of people. Khan stated “I do like to listen to feedback from lots of people across pro wrestling, and especially if it’s constructive, it can be really helpful. I think there’s a lot of times where you hear somebody say something, and they say, ‘oh, why didn’t they do it this way? Or ‘instead of going from point A to point B and then to point C, you know, maybe off in between point and point B, they could have added this,’ and so maybe there’s a good idea there they can use in the future. I really do love hearing feedback from all kinds of people, from people in wrestling, wrestlers, people who work in wrestling in the production side or both, and fans. Fans that I’ve never been backstage at a show in their lives, but just love wrestling and watch it a lot, and they have great ideas… I had never been backstage at a wrestling show until I was in my 30s. And I just grew up watching it and loving it and following it and, you know, trading tapes and talking about it. So there’s a lot of different places and a lot of different ways that you can get an idea about wrestling or that you can contribute. I just think it’s really neat that there’s people from literally all over the world in hundreds of countries that follow the same sport and can share ideas and talk with each other. It’s really cool.
