Konnan Confirms WWE was Interested in Mike Tenay for Worlds Collide 2025

As noted before, WWE had considered plans for former WCW and TNA announcer Mike Tenay to potentially work at their WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event earlier this month but those plans were dropped due to the two sides were not able to come to terms for a financial agreement. This show featured Corey Graves and AAA head booker Konnan as the official commentary team.

In a recent episode of the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, co-host Konnan confirmed that Tenay was “one hundred percent” being considered for a commentary role on the show instead of him.

Konnan also stated that he had heard that the reason why Tenay was not brought in was due to a money issue but this is something he found it “hard to believe.” Konnan also stated that he was not the first, second, or third choice for the role as Graves’ commentary partner for the show.
