As noted before, Brian Cage has been out of action for AEW since this past March due to a torn quad injury and surgery and had also underwent knee replacement surgery this past June.
A recent episode of the All F’N Wrestling Show podcast featured Cage as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Cage providing an update on his recovery from his injuries and his thoughts about wanting to keep his return plans a mystery.
“I have no idea about any sort of creative plans for our return at all at this point. So, I mean, I guess anything could be possible… There’s a whole wide open of versatility of what could happen, because there’s nothing set in stone at all for when I’m coming back or what I’m going to do when I come back.
I’m not telling anybody that I don’t want anybody to have an inkling. I want everybody to have no idea of, ‘Oh, maybe around this time,’ because it might be next week, next year, or I don’t know. Who knows?”
Cage also gave his thoughts about the rapid growth of the Don Callis Family in AEW and how Don Callis never wanted the family to grow to this much but continued to roll with it because he thought it was funny.
“It’s funny, too, because I don’t think Don wanted that many people to begin with. Then I thought he kind of thought it was funny, and he was almost doing it, like, comically against it, making a joke about starting to add people, and then now it’s over the fact that everyone’s just joining the Don Callis family. Yeah, it’s quite comical.”
