Backstage Update on TNA’s Creative Changes After Tommy Dreamer’s Departure

As noted before, TNA Head of Talent Relations and booker Tommy Dreamer departed from TNA Wrestling this past Wednesday. Dreamer’s departure was later confirmed by TNA to be part of a larger workplace reductions taking place within the company.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Eric Tompkins, Vice President of TV Production will be working with Hunter “Delirious’ Johnston on TNA creative.

Johnson reported that those spoken to described Tompkins as being a co-head of TNA creative with Delirious but this is something that has yet to be 100% confirmed. Johnson also reported that TNA officials have held recent internal discussions regarding others potentially being brought into their creative team.


Backstage Update on TNA’s Talks with Road Dogg

As noted before, TNA Wrestling has held recent talks with former WWE SmackDown co-lead writer and WWE Hall of Famer Brian “Road Dogg” James to be Tommy Dreamer’s potential replacement in their creative team.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated James is currently scheduled to attend this Sunday’s TNA Slammiversary 2026 event in Boston, Massachusetts.

Johnson reported that those spoken to stated that James was initially pitched for a potential producer role in TNA but that has changed since Dreamer was let go from the company. One source spoken to reportedly stated that James is close with WWE NXT head writer Johnny Russo which could led to a stronger dynamic to the current partnership between TNA and WWE’s NXT brand.


Former WWE Talent Reportedly Set To Make TNA Debut at Slammiversary 2026

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that a former WWE talent is currently planned to make their official debut for TNA Wrestling at this Sunday’s TNA Slammiversary 2026 event in Boston, Massachusetts.

Johnson reported that those spoken to described this person as being a “former multi-time singles champion” but the identity nor which titles they held are currently not known. It was not stated if this person is a male or female wrestler.

Johnson also reported that this mystery former WWE talent is currently believed to be wrestling at Slammiversary.
