Braun Strowman Comments on How El Grande Americano vs. Original Americano in Mask vs. Mask Match Rekindled His Wrestling Passion

A recent episode of the Off The Ropes podcast featured former WWE wrestler Braun Strowman, real name Adam Scherr, as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Strowman’s thoughts about how the Mask vs. Mask match between Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable) and El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) at Lucha Libre AAA’s Noche de Los Grandes 2026 Week 1 show rekindled his passion for pro wrestling.

“That AAA match between (Chad) Gable and Ludwig (Kaiser) made me feel. It made me remember why I love professional wrestling. It made me go, ‘I can go.’ In my mind, I can go. I can take my shirt off, and I’ll show you (that) I look better than anybody on that damn roster or any three-letter brand roster. I’ve been focusing on these nerve injuries and all this other stuff. The reality of it is, I miss being in the ring. I miss being in the locker room. I don’t miss the rest of the bullshit that comes along with it.”
