Sin Cara will now be known as “Cinta de Oro” going forward.
A week after his WWE release, he appeared at Saturday’s AAA Guerra de Titanes show in Mexico and announced that he’ll now be wrestling in AAA starting next year. He used the name “Sin Cara,” which was interesting considering that WWE has the trademark to the name in Mexico as well as the US.
He has now changed his name on social media to Cinta de Oro. That was the ring name of one of his wrestling idols growing up, who was also his coach, who died in 2016, Sin Cara told Pro Wrestling Sheet.
He said that the sons of the original Cinta de Oro gave him permission to carry on the legacy of the name and gave him a mask that was worn by their father, which you can see below.
Cinta de Oro translates to “Gold Ribbon.”
