As noted before, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit in January of 2024 against former WWE/TKO Executive Chairman Vince McMahon accusing McMahon of committing sex trafficking and sexual abuse towards her during her time in the company. Grant filed an amended lawsuit in February of 2025 detailing new evidence and claims against McMahon, WWE, and others. Grant had filed a memorandum this past April containing additional details in her allegations against McMahon, WWE President Nick Khan, former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis, Brock Lesnar, and WWE itself. The court had approved McMahon, Grant, and WWE’s request this past June for the lawsuit to be moved out of the public and into private arbitration. This private arbitration move for the lawsuit was made official this past Monday.
Grant reflected on Wednesday on Instagram about the struggles she has been dealing with and has been grateful for all of the messages and support she has received. Grant did not specifically mention or address the lawsuit for her post.
“I’ll be honest and say it … I’ve been struggling. It happened to be a perfect storm of everything and all at once. Thank you for checking in with me and for your patience. I also received a lot of questions and I hope this helps clear up any confusion.
It’s completely ok to continue reaching out and sending messages. I’m communicating the same way I’ve been.
I’m grateful for your messages and for your support.
To offer a visual that might help, my life resembles the Anderson Cooper podcast about grief. These profound and meaningful exchanges have helped me feel less alone.
I believe that making a difference in the world begins with how we show up in it.
I have been outside 5 times this year. But here I am. And I’m still showing up to be part of the solution.”
