AEW currently does not plan to sign Tessa Blanchard as things currently stand, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Meltzer says that “while nobody will deny her talent and from that standpoint,” a “decision was made to not pursue her” and “as things stand right now, this is not going to be her destination.”
Blanchard became a free agent in June after Impact released her and stripped her of the Impact World Championship with about a week left on her contract.
A couple of days later, Meltzer reported that WWE was interested in signing her and had sent out “feelers” to her about a potential signing.
In January, Blanchard was accused by a few women wrestlers of past incidents of bullying and calling another wrestler the “n word.” Blanchard denied the allegations.
Since her release from Impact, she’s only wrestled in one match in September for Warrior Wrestling, when she dropped the Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship to Kylie Rae.
She has been living in Mexico with her husband Daga and travel has been limited because of the coronavirus.
Tessa’s father Tully Blanchard is currently signed by AEW.
